Nir Becker is a Professor of Economics at Tel-Hai Academic College. Prof. Becker is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. He specializes in Environmental and Resources Economics. Prof. Becker has published 60 referred papers and 20 chapters. He also wrote a book on the economics of marine protected areas and edited a book on water policy in Israel.
After dedicating his first 10 professional years to analyse water issues, Prof. Becker shifted his interest towards the economics of nature and energy conservation. He is a consultant to the Society for the Protection of Nature Israel, the Ministry of the Environment, and other environmental organizations on various issues related to the economics of nature conservation and environmental quality.
