Deputy Director
Eliza Mayo is Deputy Director of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, working to advance cross-border environmental cooperation in the Middle East region in the face of conflict.
Eliza, a long-time member of Kibbutz Lotan, has a Master’s Degree in International Development with a thesis in Environmental Economics, a passion for communal living, a deep commitment to social change, and a love for poetry and contemporary art.
In the current moment, wavering between despair and hope, she finds recourse in actions for education and research for peace, cooperation, and climate resilience, including the meaningful and the mundane tasks of running an environmental-peace NGO/Institute.
