Leah Benamy is a Reform rabbi and teacher of Hebrew for the last 27 years. Born in New Jersey, she holds a BA from Rutgers College and an MAHL degree and rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, OH.

For the last 20 years Leah has lived on Kibbutz Lotan, a Reform kibbutz in the southern Arava. In addition to teaching Hebrew Leah takes an active role in building her kibbutz’s community as volunteer coordinator and minimarket manager. Leah makes bookmarks and greeting cards as a creative outlet and loves Israeli dancing and baking. She has three children: Shai, Ayal and Na’ama.
