"This year’s #COP feels noticeably different. This year's COP seems smaller and lower key than #COP28 in Dubai. Besides going from bright and sunny Dubai weather to overcast and light drizzle Baku weather, the venue is much smaller, and the participation of world leaders is more limited. This is perhaps a reflection of the world's attention being shifted from working together on climate change action to conflict in the Middle East, the Ukraine-Russia war, and the recent US election. The thought that the world is too distracted to pay attention to the climate crisis is as depressing as the weather in Baku."
