51 students and interns arrived at the Arava Institute in mid-September, excited for orientation and the beginning of their courses. The Fall 2019 participants come from Israel, Jordan, Palestine, Brazil, Canada, India, Kenya, Morocco, France, and the United States.
The first few days were spent in various different icebreaker activities and introductory sessions to the participants’ new environment, as well as first experiences in multi-cultural communal living on our desert campus. Orientation week also included a regional field trip to allow the students to discover the local environment. After the first week of classes, the students are now making their final choice of courses.
We are excited about the new diverse community on campus, and wish everyone a successful and meaningful semester!
