Last week we welcomed the students and interns of the new Spring Semester! The 48 participants come from the Israel, Jordan, Palestine, the United States, France, Germany, Austria, Kenya and Rwanda.
They spent their first few days in introductory activities, getting to know their new environment and learning how to live in the unique multicultural setting that the Arava Institute presents. They also went on a regional trip to experience their desert surroundings, including a hike in Timna Park and a tour of Kibbutz Lotan’s Center for Creative Ecology.
This week, students will have a chance to participate in all offered classes before finalizing their course selection for the semester. Interns will be introduced to their individual supervisors and begin working on their research projects.
We wish everyone a successful and enriching semester, and look forward to getting to know all the new faces at the Arava Institute!
