Two weeks ago we welcomed 31 students and interns of the Spring 2025 semester on our campus in Kibbutz Ketura.
The participants spent their first few days getting to know each other and the program, and settling into their new surroundings. Orientation activities also included meeting staff and faculty, joining kibbutz community events, and beginning to build the campus community.
The week was concluded with a day trip to Timna Park with a hike and educational activities, during which the group had the opportunity to delve into the unique desert environment, and begin to learn about the environmental challenges and opportunities of the Arava region.
Last week, students explored this semester’s course offerings before making their final choices, while interns began to settle into their positions and to create work plans for their individual research. Classes are currently being held in hybrid format to accommodate a number of additional participants who will hopefully arrive on campus soon.
We look forward to getting to know this new group, and are excited to be part of their journey at the Arava Institute!
