We are excited to welcome Dr. Tali Zohar as the new Director of our Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC), a joint center of the Institute and the Dead Sea and Arava Science Center.
Dr. Zohar holds a B.A. in Behavioral Science from Ruppin Academic Center, an M.A in Energy Policy and Management from the University of Haifa, and a Ph.D. in energy policy, studying the transition towards a low-carbon electricity market in Israel. Her research via the Dead Sea and Arava Science Center, explores the water-energy-food nexus, the assimilation of low-carbon technologies, and sustainable local solutions for water scarcity and clean energy production. In addition to her research, Dr. Zohar currently teaches a course on Alternative Energy Science at the Institute.
She came to the Arava region a year and a half ago to conduct her post-doc research on agrivoltaics with Dr. Tareq Abu Hamed, and lives in Kibbutz Ketura with her husband and four children.
We look forward to working with Dr. Zohar, and wish her the best of luck in this new position.
