On December 21st-22nd 2015, representatives of the Center for Transboundary Water Management attended the final meeting of TransBasin – Transboundary Water Basin Management Project at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. The project, which was funded by the International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) of the European Union, brought together over the past four years researchers from Europe and the Middle East to study conflict and cooperation in river basin management and to identify the principles and mechanisms that both promote and hinder cooperation in river basins in Europe and the Middle East.
This last meeting of the partners from Israel, Jordan, Palestine and Portugal, was an exciting celebration of the challenges and achievements realized by the program. The irreplaceable value of shared research and collaboration was emphasized by the positive personal experiences of the participants. It was especially gratifying to notice the high proportion of young female researchers that participated in the project.
