The Arava Institute and the Friends of the Arava Institute would like to thank Israeli singer Noa, also known in Israel as Achinoam Nini, for her benefit performance at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, Georgia. The concert was held in support of the Institute’s mission to build bridges between Jews and Arabs in the Middle East on the basis of shared environmental concerns. Noa is a member of the Israeli Public Council of the Arava Institute and as a proud Israeli performer, frequently speaks out for coexistence, democracy and peace-building in the region. Noa was joined on the stage by Gil Dor, her long time musical collaborator and also a member of the Israeli Public Council for the Arava Institute.
Last week’s benefit concert was attended by over 340 people including a number of rabbis from local Jewish congregations and other prominent members of the Atlanta Jewish community who came to show their support for Noa, Israeli culture and the Arava Institute. The benefit concert was organized as a fundraiser for the Institute by Shai Robkin, a member of the Board of the Friends of the Arava Institute which is supported in Atlanta by the Jewish National Fund. The many members of the Atlanta Jewish community have also shown their support for the Institute by joining the Israel Ride, our annual bike ride from Jerusalem to Eilat www.israelride.org.
We are very honored to have Noa and Gil as members of the Public Council and grateful for their friendship and loyalty to the Institute.
