We applaud the signing of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas which brings the promise of hope to Israelis and Palestinians who have lived through the devasting past two years.
We hope and trust that the agreement will bring all the remaining hostages home and an end to the destruction and war in Gaza, enabling necessary aid to relieve the suffering of displaced Gazans.
This is a first step towards a just and sustainable peace where Israelis and Palestinians can live side by side in security, freedom, and mutual respect.
The Arava Institute will continue to work with our partners to advance the desperately needed environmental humanitarian aid on the ground and longer-term work for recovery and rehabilitation.
