Statement: 4/8/2025

Withholding food in the face of starvation is indefensible.

We are a Palestinian organization and an Israeli organization working together in a coalition called Jumpstarting Hope in Gaza.

We call on international organizations, the United Nations, the Israeli government, and regional governments to ensure a sustained and unhindered flow of food and humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Every moment of delay costs lives. The basic test of our shared humanity is whether we will act now to ensure that children, families, and hostages, do not die of hunger while aid sits at borders and checkpoints. This is a crisis of both survival and sustainability. Humanitarian access must include clean water, sustainable food systems, renewable energy, and ecosystem restoration. Without these foundations, communities remain vulnerable, and recovery will be fragile.

To care about people is to care about the land and water that sustain them. We demand that immediate and sustained food and humanitarian aid is allowed to enter Gaza. Lives depend on it. So does the future of the environment, and the possibility of lasting peace in the region.
